I didn't even notice the snare until I read the review which to me means it fit fine. What are you using for your dubstep growls?

Cethic responds:

NI Massive with EQ automation.

The intro was perfect for a dubstep drop of some sort. But then it stayed like an ambient weird song. I didn't mind, but really, I like the ambiance, but it would have made an awesome song if a song ever started. I could see this being remixed. Anyway, good stuff.

I made it so some one else could use it for a dub step
but I will make it a dub step later on
thanks for your reviews

A very good version of the song, though since I've heard so many remixes of the Legend of Zelda songs, I wouldn't say memorable. It captures the song perfectly, but I personally I would have no reason to listen to more then once since it presented nothing new to me compared to the other remixes. But really, a great version of the song, the sounds are leveled very well and overall the sounds you chose are great.

LadyArsenic responds:

Thanks! I honestly wasn't trying to make anything riveting and original. I've just been stuck my whole life with suck instruments that I really wanted to show everyone I now have this kickass library and mean business. Keep listening and you'll hear the riveting stuff soon. ;)
Thanks for listening!!! <3

Not bad, I found the drums to be a bit overly repetitious but I really liked the leads. The melodies and counter-melodies were good. Overall a good song, sounds very similar to Openlight (A newgrounds artist) to me, but maybe it's because I don't listen to this style of dance very often.

Thank you for review it was very helpful ! :)

Clap is a little generic, be a little more creative with your snares, and with your beats in general. The sounds don't mesh great, though I like the melody's. Work on the instruments, and speed it up a little. The song feels so slow. Make your own sounds and make them work with it, that's my strategy.

benc98 responds:

Thank you for the honest feedback. i do agree with most of your comment. My transitions and beats are a bit generic, but its one of my first songs so i'll definitely try and improve and make more interesting tunes in upcoming tracks.

Ahh, another good song! I remember back 2 years ago when I was just starting out in newgrounds with my 8-bit and you and I actually had very similar styles. It has been interesting watching your sounds grow as they have. Keep up the good work and continue to grow ^_^

OpenLight responds:

Thanks Prex!

Not sure why

But it sounds really pitchy. Can't tell if headphones or song, but it's such a good song I don't really mind. But some parts it's just like nails on a chalkboard. So perhaps some mastering on the higher pitch parts, especially the bells. Like I said though, good song :D

Bosa responds:

You may be right. I don't know if it's a mastering issue or not. It sounds perfect coming from my computer speakers, but you may have a different volume adjustment than me.

Intro, way to loud

That first noise sound that drops, is too loud on the start, bring down the starting volume, and it'll be fine. I like it though. The drums seem to drop too often near the beginning when you should be getting the beat set. You can put them quietly or on a weird beat or something, but you bring them in, then take them away, then bring them in, then take them away. Just leave them in a bit more. At 2:10 you drop the drums again, which would make it very hard to dance to consistently. Cause it seems like every 30 secs you take them out for 4 measures. Just let 'em ride or through in break beats if you want to keep it fresh. Also, more bass lol. Though what I've said sounds bleak, you have a good song, just needs a little variations and to keep the drums in longer >_<

Thanks for comment!

I hear

The drum is total out of FL Studios amirite? It sounds like the Dance packs Clubkick. Not a bad thing at all, I use it all the time. I just recognize it. Anyway, the melody is cool and stays interesting even repeated. The build up and false drops are cool and a nice effect. The drop at 2:11 was fucking awesome I loved it. Could be a little more intense, not sure how :/ just something feels like its missing, just something. But everything is fucking awesome, and stays awesome. The drums are a little repetitive, throw in a break beat every so many measures and it'll be great.

The-Cockenator responds:

haha Thank you :D and yea its Fl studios to the max haha and no its not Dance pack its Vengence annd all the sounds in the song are made with Harmless :D and keep checkin

My Opinion

I feel like the drums are a little overpowering in the beginning, you could filter them, do a low pass/high pass, w/e. It would bring out the melody a bit more. The synths are fun, and upbeat, though a little flat, they feel like one texture rather multifaceted and interesting. Same with the bass, it's very simple. However, I'd like to praise you highly for your melody, it's really good, though the counter-melody could use a little work, it doesn't fit very well at certain parts, too slow, it detracts from the energy of the song. I like the counter melody seperately, it sounds great, but when it's played under the melody it just drags it. Make it a little more upbeat when you play it under the melody and I think it'll be great. This song has a ton of potential, great melodies, good breaks, the drums are good and stay interesting which is unusual for the genre. I really like the piece, it just needs some work on the synths and the counter-melody should be more upbeat when it's countering the melody.

SKILLZmakeKILLZ responds:

thanks for the in depth review.
appreciated but disappointing at the same time. :/
